First Century Christianity – Returning to the Original Teaching

“You must fight for the teaching that was once delivered to the saints.” – Jude 1:3

Christianity began in the first century with a unified faith, hope, and baptism. God, who spoke through prophets in the past, has now spoken to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible, written nearly 2000 years ago by about 40 divinely inspired prophets and righteous men, remains the foundation of Christian faith today.

Bible Specificity and Authority

The Bible, translated into many languages including Telugu, is the world’s best‑selling book and the first ever printed after Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press. It has shaped history and continues to guide millions.

Yet today, its teachings are fragmented—divided into thousands of denominations and interpretations. This division is not due to the Bible itself, but to human traditions and false teachings that distort its message.

One Bible, One Teaching

In the first century, Apostle Paul reminded believers in Ephesus that there is one faith, one hope, and one baptism (Ephesians 4:4‑6). Sadly, modern Christianity is divided:

• Some reject festivals, others celebrate them.
• Some insist on tithing, others give freely.
• Some worship on Saturday, others on Sunday.
• Some baptize by immersion, others by sprinkling.

These contradictions confuse new believers and weaken the unity of the Church. Paul warned the Galatians against accepting “another gospel” (Galatians 1:6‑9). False teachings that began in the first century have multiplied today.

The Solution – Returning to the Scriptures

The antidote to false teaching is simple: search the Scriptures. As the Bereans did (Acts 17:10‑11), we must test every teaching against the Word of God. Human traditions cannot save us; only the truth of the Bible can.

Isaiah 34:16 reminds us: “Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read.” Every answer lies within Scripture itself. By returning to the original teaching, Christians can rediscover unity and strength in Christ.

O Christian, Awake!

Nominal Christians must awaken! False doctrines cannot stand against the eternal Word of God. Regardless of denomination or community, believers are called to:

• Examine the Bible carefully.
• Reject teachings that contradict Scripture.
• Live according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
• Embrace the sacrifice of Christ and His true Gospel.

Together, we can revive the Christ Revolution that began 2000 years ago.
