Example of Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
You are Great, Exalted, Holy and Eternal!
Father, you created the heavens and the heavens and their hosts, the earth and all that is in them, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The whole army of the sky bows down to you.
We believe that this is eternal life for them to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Father, we believe that we are in your kingdom of Christ. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Father, by your grace grant us our daily bread. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, save us from the harm of the evil one.
Father, we pray this prayer to You in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in our full submission. Amen.

We Pray God all the Times..

Whether we are in happy times or sad times, we should always pray to God.

Prayer is an important way to experience God as the believer can communicate with Him. By bringing their problems to God, or asking for forgiveness and help, they come closer to God. We believe they can speak with God in prayer and are taught to pray by Jesus Christ himself.

We describe prayer as a conversation with God. Prayer can be silent or said out loud. It can use set words, or a person’s own words. In prayer, we lift our minds and hearts to God.

There are many different kinds of prayer, including:

adoration – praising God for His greatness and admitting dependence on Him
confession – owning up to sin and asking for God’s mercy and forgiveness
thanksgiving – thanking God for His many blessings, ex: health or children
petition – asking God for something, ex: healing, courage or wisdom
intercession – asking God to help others who need it, ex: the sick, poor, those suffering in war

We believe prayer deepens a person’s faith. Praying can help the believer come to a greater understanding of God’s purpose for their lives. We interpret the response they might get to their prayers in the following ways:

God answers prayers, but not always in the way the person wants. When a prayer is not answered, it may be that the person asked for something God thinks would not be good for them, or that their prayer will be answered later.
God will answer our prayers in quite spectacular ways, ex: the recovery of a sick person. They may see this as a miracle.
Aswell as, Meditation or contemplation is a way of trying to reach a higher spiritual level.

Prayer is important to Us because:

Jesus taught us to pray (the Lord’s Prayer).
It is following the example of Jesus who is often recorded as praying in the Bible.
It encourages us to acknowledge the goodness of God and how great He is (prayers of adoration).
It encourages us to confess and ask for forgiveness.
It helps us to remain humble as we thank God for all the things He has given us.
It encourages us to remember the needs of others rather than focusing on ourselves (prayers of intercession).
It encourages us to remember that we cannot do everything ourselves and we need someone greater than us (prayers of petition).
It unites the Church as some prayers are said together as part of the service.
